177 – Death row

Quick answers
Rarely answer
The right

Eyes widen
At the sight
Of those doing
What we haven’t dared.

Envy crawls
Inside our heads
And curls up
Beside our dreams
To die
While our lives
Rust away
Always wishing,
Never doing.

A hard wall
Built of concrete
And fear
Begins to grow
Over the bones
Of all the adventures
We never gave
A chance
To be.

One day there’s
No more time left
To waste away
Siting alone
On a comfortable
Binging on Netflix.

Open your eyes!

Walk to the very edge
And jump into the darkness.

You may die daring.

But at least
You won’t live wanting.
